About Me

I am a writer, podcaster, translator, editor and educator, focussing on visual art, culture and media.

Formerly a text editor with Art India, philosophy tutor at Ashoka University and researcher with Sarai-CSDS, I now develop and manage the audio content programme for Sharjah Art Foundation [to listen to the series I have produced for Sharjah Art Foundation, click here and here.] I also produce art-based podcasts commissioned by cultural organisations e.g. Dreams, Dialogues, and Disruptions for the Goethe Institut New Delhi.

Apart from work within institutional contexts, I contribute critical writing to publications, peer-reviewed journals, edited volumes and exhibition material worldwide, including a popular monthly series for Scroll.in. My critical practice extends to curatorial projects: Mumkin Zameen/ Impossible Lands (2024) at Niv Art Centre, New Delhi and Vijay Singh Mohite: Inexorable Pulsations (2026) at Gallery Prologue, Mumbai. In my free time, I run South Asia's first independent visual culture podcast - Artaलाप - streaming on all audio apps (Instagram: @art.alaap).

My literary practice runs parallel to academic and journalistic pursuits: my poetry has appeared in Cha, Fulcrum, Kartika Review, Pratilipi and The Stinging Fly, and in the anthology ‘14 International Younger Poets’ (Arts & Letters, 2021), and was longlisted for the Toto Funds the Arts Awards. I translate between English and Hindustani, my first book-length project being a translation of Anu Singh Choudhary's 'Neela Scarf' (HarperCollins India, 2023), which was shortlisted for the Stinging Fly New Translator's Bursary 2021.

I was the inaugural Critic-in-Residence at the Serendipity Art Foundation's Dharti residency 2018, a finalist for the International Award for Art Criticism 2020 and selected for the Momus Emerging Critics Residency 2021. My recognitions include the Inlaks: TAKE on Writing Travel Grant for Young Critics (2015), the RedInk Award for Print Journalism in the Arts (2023), and the TAKE on Art X Pro Helvetia Art Writers’ Award (2024). I am currently the inaugural recipient of the Mrinalini Mukherjee Arts Writer Grant (2025) and co-recipient of a Pro Helvetia Co-Creation grant 2025.
